NEXT PUBLIC HEARING
2024 Draft Budget
and Proposed Water and Sewer Rate Adjustments

The Board of Commissioners of Sammamish Plateau Water is holding a Public Hearing on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 5:00pm. The public hearing will be held both in-person at the District Office located at 1510 228th Avenue SE, Sammamish, WA 98075 and virtually using the Zoom meeting platform. The purpose of the Public Hearing to receive public comment on, and consider adoption of the 2024 draft Budget and proposed water and sewer rate adjustments. A public hearing notice will be published in the Seattle Times on November 20 and 27, 2023.
Public Hearing In-Person and Virtual Access
This hybrid public hearing will be held both in-person at the District Office located at 1510 228th Avenue SE, Sammamish, WA 98075 and virtually using the Zoom meeting platform. The Zoom meeting information is below, and will also be located on the Public Hearing meeting agenda which will be posted in the Agenda Center the Friday prior to the public hearing date.

Public Commenting
Written comment: Written public comment will be accepted until 12:00pm noon on the day of the public hearing. Submit your written comments by email to administration@spwater.org. Please include “Public Hearing” and the hearing date in the subject field. When submitting a public comment, please include your name and address, or relationship to the District.
Verbal comment: Up to three (3) minutes of verbal public comment may be provided per person live during the public hearing. Those attending in-person will have the opportunity to sign-up to provide comment. Those attending remotely will utilize Zoom’s “raise hand” feature to provide comment. Detailed Zoom instructions and guidelines are linked below.
Proposed Rate Adjustments
Sammamish Plateau Water is committed to providing high-quality water and sewer service to our customers. Periodic rate adjustments ensure the District’s ability to maintain this level of service.
WATER RATES
The District is proposing a 5% water revenue adjustment based upon completion of a customer cost of service allocation and recalibration of the base and block rates to improve equity based on how costs are incurred. Revenue adjustments for specific customer classes are proposed in accordance with the following tables:

SEWER RATES
The District is proposing an adjustment to sewer revenue of 5.5%, which would increase the monthly sewer rate for a single-family residential sewer customer by $2.26 to $43.32 per month.
